How fine is it?
Ultra-fine cashmere is crafted on 33-gauge knitting machines. The term gauge refers to the number of stitches per inch — the higher the number, the finer and lighter the knit.
The 33-gauge frame therefore produces extremely lightweight garments of exceptional quality, the result of over half a century of craftsmanship and expertise.
The yarn used is an extra-fine cashmere 2/48000. The name 2/48000 refers to its construction: to create 1 kg of 2/48000 cashmere yarn, two threads, each 48,000 meters (48 km) long, are twisted together. This means that 96 km of yarn are required to produce just 1 kg of cashmere — a testament to its extraordinary fineness.
